 The Omaggio collection is one of Kähler's greatest design successes in recent times. It was launched in 2008 and quickly gained popularity thanks to its new way of working with stripes in a modern and subtle design. Omaggio means "to celebrate" in Italian, and this collection pays homage to Kähler's tradition of design and craftsmanship, which dates back to 1839. The inspiration for the hand-painted stripes was the work of the most skilled ceramic painters from the old Kähler workshop, who emphasized the shapes of the ceramics with great precision and invention. The Danish design brand KÄHLER has a long and fascinating history. It dates back to 1839, when Herman J. Kähler opened a ceramics workshop in the Danish town of Næstved. Later, his sons took over the business and that is when the real success story began. They began experimenting with shapes and different types of glazes, attracting a number of renowned designers to the workshop. This gradually led to international recognition and the KÄHLER brand continued to grow.
