Where did it begin?
Mason Cash products have been a favourite of home cooks and bakers for centuries. The brand's origins date back to a pottery workshop in the small town of Church Gresley, situated in the heart of the English ceramics industry in the early 19th century. It was close to all the sources of raw materials and fuels needed to make ceramics and had excellent transport links that allowed the finished products to be transported throughout the UK and around the world.
How the name came about
The pottery was initially run by several masters, the most prominent of whom was "Bossy" Mason, hence the name "Mason". In 1901, Tom Cash acquired the pottery and renamed the company Mason Cash & Co. In the same year, the first iconic scullery bowl was designed and produced. The look of this bowl has stood the test of time and has become a well-known classic. Mason Cash is still renowned today for its innovative, classic kitchenware.
