Peugeot Bistrorama salt mill, varnished beech wood, red, height 10 cm
Thesalt mill is traditionally made from beech wood, sourced from trees sustainably grown in France. The beech wood is treated with a high-gloss lacquer in 8 vibrant and fresh colours (passion red, pistachio, violet aubergine, dark slate grey, cream ivory, orange terracotta, sweet pink and Pacific blue). After unscrewing the crown and removing the top, it is easy to fill. Tightening or loosening the crown then controls the coarseness of the grind. A pepper mill is also available in the same design.

The first Bistro salt and pepper mill, with its typical understated decoration, was designed in 1874. Today, of course, the processing technology has been adapted to the 21. The key component of these grinders is still beech wood, as it was in the past, but Peugeot has launched a collection of cheerful pepper and salt grinders, made from traditional beech wood but in high gloss and bright, contemporary colours, and aptly named Bistrorama.

Salt grinder: the salt grinding mechanism is designed to grind coarse, dry rock salt, ideally with crystals of 4 mm or less in diameter. Not for grinding pepper!
